Many people complain Christmas starts earlier and earlier every year but for record and music producers, if begins in the summer!
We’ve had a few new releases out this December. First up, a new single with our friends, The Poor Clares of Arundel. It is a new arrangement of O Come All Ye Faithful which we recorded whilst producing their 2nd album to be released around Easter next year. It has been a joy to record this album with the Sisters, it hasn’t felt like work at all and we have made some very special friends along the way.
We’ve also been working with the BBC Singers and Warners on some new Christmas arrangements for a six track EP called Carols Revisited. BBC Radio 3 have been very supportive so you might have heard some of the carols played there. The idea was to give a new, almost meditative take on some very well known Christmas songs and to highlight the amazing blend and technical ability of this world class choir who have had a very difficult year indeed. We will hopefully working with them again in 2024 on some new repertoire.
Finally, we’ve self released another Christmas track, Coventry Carol from our piano duo, Piano Hands. Huge thank you to Classic FM for being so supportive and giving us airplay – it is very tough for new music that isn’t released on a major label to get much of a look in at this time of year with such a crowded market, so their support makes all the difference. Huge thanks also to anyone reading this blog and showing an interest in our work and music!
Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and happiness and health for 2024.
